Find More Money for College
When planning how to pay for college, it’s important to start with money that doesn’t need to be repaid like scholarships and grants. Wells Fargo offers tips on planning for college through the CollegeSTEPS® program.
Wells Fargo’s CollegeSTEPS Program

Look for scholarships
When it comes to scholarships, you should start searching early and be persistent. Fastweb is a free scholarship search service where you can create a personalized profile and locate scholarships applicable to you and your talents and interests. Fastweb is a a Monster® company and is not owned or operated by Wells Fargo.
Other ways to find scholarships include:
Do an online search for “scholarships.”
Visit your high school counselor or college resource center to research any local or school-specific scholarships.
Check out scholarship reference books in a library or bookstore; make sure you locate the most current edition.
If you attend or are thinking of attending a specific college, visit that school's website or call their admission's office to determine if they offer any scholarships.
Be community-minded: does your religious organization, bank, or other civic organization offer scholarships?
Beware of scholarship scams
Scholarships are "free money," so you should never have to pay money to get them. Watch out for scholarship scams or companies that require a credit card number just to perform a search. Save the money and do it yourself! Go to www.finaid.org for more details on scholarship scams and how to report them.
